Abstract

This paper is based on an analytical study of the diverse use of the art of allusions in the ghazals of Khawaja Haider Ali Atish. In this paper, an attempt has been made to bring out this trend, which discusses the semantic explanations of the diverse uses of Islamic allusions in Ghazalyat-i-Atish. The art of allusions appears to be used to the extent of a formal gradient by classical poets. Atish has given special attention to the art of allusions by adapting it to the form of ghazal and giving new meanings to its poetic necessity and artistic value. While this paper is an attempt to bring out Atish's devotion and connection with Islam, it is also an expression of Atish's linguistic ability and grasp of language.
