His writings  has notable impact on Urdu critics. His critical lens, characterized by its profound depth, intellectual rigor, and unwavering commitment to literary excellence, shaped the landscape of Urdu criticism for decades. Agha introduced and championed several groundbreaking theories in Urdu criticism, including Marxist criticism, existentialism, and structuralism. He adeptly applied these Western frameworks to analyze Urdu literature, offering fresh perspectives and sparking intellectual discourse.
