Abstract

Saleem Kausar was born on Friday 24 October 1947 in Panipat. He obtained the degree of Urdu Fazil from Sindh Board. He wrote his first poem in matriculation, titled Government High School Khanewal. This poem was published in the school magazine. In this article, the intellectual evaluation of Saleem Kausar's poetry has been done. Saleem Kausar is one of the important poets of Pakistan. His style is simple. In his poetry, themes such as pain and sorrow, love, memories, dreams, separation, sadness, waiting, hope and current issues are found. Salim Kausar's poetry reflects his personality and character. He has experimented with genres of speech like poems, ghazals, hymns, naats and minqbats.
