The colonial context introduced profound transformations in the intellectual and socio-cultural landscape, which significantly influenced Muslim scholarship and literary production. Urdu Seerah writers, responding to both internal reformist impulses and external pressures such as Orientalist critiques and missionary discourse, developed new stylistic and thematic approaches. It highlights the incorporation of rational argumentation, historical consciousness, and socio-religious reform into the narrative framework. The study also explores how these factors led to a shift from traditional, devotional modes of writing to more analytical, critical, and context-aware expressions. By analyzing selected texts, this paper demonstrates that Urdu Seerah writing in the colonial era was not merely a continuation of classical traditions but an adaptive and dynamic response to changing historical circumstances. It played a vital role in articulating Muslim identity and intellectual resilience in a period marked by colonial dominance and cultural negotiation.
