Abstract

This research paper presents an analytical study of Mustansar Hussain Tarar's renowned travelogue "Niklay Teri Talash Mein" (1971), which marks a significant turning point in Urdu travel literature. The study examines Tarar's unique literary style, his distinctive approach to landscape portrayal, his method of presenting historical facts through the lens of historicity, and his personal philosophy of travel, vagrancy, and love (ishq). The research demonstrates that this travelogue transcends the conventional boundaries of travel writing, functioning instead as an autobiographical narrative where the author presents his philosophy of life, death, and love while simultaneously bringing history to life as a breathing, moving reality rather than a collection of lifeless facts confined to library books.
