Abstract

In postmodern criticism, postcolonial theory of criticism is the most popular on the contemporary literary scene. Postcolonial studies are generally considered to be incorrect in identifying superficial political, cultural and resistance attitudes. However, its scope and foundation is based on the ideas of post-colonial thinkers. This literary criticism theory is based on the identification of supportive, hostile and dualistic attitudes towards colonialism in literature. It is a style of study that recognizes colonial ideology. Claims of European centralism are exposed. It brings out the justifications and strategies for establishing and maintaining the colonial system. It clarifies the dominant and subjugated cultural forces in the colonial countries. Explores the political oppression behind colonial narratives. Post-colonial studies include post-colonial criticism. In post-colonial criticism, all kinds of cultural, cultural, religious, anthropological, political, economic and educational relations between the colonizer and the colonized are studied in the light of literary texts. The text is analyzed in terms of resistance, reconciliation, empowerment, support, opposition and dualism. Thus, we see the scope of post-colonial studies and its basic concepts are extensive. Only after having a better knowledge of this theory of criticism can a critic reach better results by making this theory of criticism more relevant. This paper post-colonial theory.
