Abstract

Allama Iqbal was a great thinker who gave the idea of a separate country for Muslims. At first, he loved a united India, but after visiting Europe, he changed his mind. He realized that Western ideas were too materialistic. Instead, he promoted Muslim nationalism based on Islamic values. Iqbal wanted Muslims to learn modern science and industry to improve their economy. He also believed that Islamic laws should be updated for modern times. In 1930, he gave a famous speech demanding a separate Muslim state where everyone could live with justice, equality, and peace. The article reveals the vision and intellect of Iqbal for a separate Muslim state in the light of his poetry and prose.
