Abstract

Dr. Ravish Nadeem is a poet and critic. His intellectual inclination is towards progressivism. “Tissue Paper Pe Likhi Nazmain” and “Dehshat k Mosam Main Likhi Nazmain” are his poetic works. “Jadeed adabi Tehreekon Ka Zawal” “Manto Ki Aurtain” and “Faiz Ahmad Faiz: Faiz Sadi, Mutakhab Mazameen” are pieces of criticism. The topics of his poems are human being, the problems of an oriental lady, love, feminism and class distinction in the society. He deeply studied colonialism, media warfare and capitalism and their impacts on the literature and society of the third world countries. His symbols and metaphors are from the Hindu myths. He is progressive in thoughts but he did not follow the thoughts of progressive philosophers blindly. In this article symbolic characters of Dr. Ravish Nadeem’s poetry are elaborated. These characters include Anamica, radha, Taji, Khanum and Sidharath.
