The Presentation of Civilization and Culture in Ashfaq Ahmed’s Fiction

Abstract

Literature is the mirror of life that reflects society, its culture,emotions, sensation, experiences and thoughts. The present research  presents  the socio- Cultural aspects of modern  Urdu Fiction with special reference to the short stories of Ishfaq Ahmad. Ishfaq Ahmad stands out among all Contemporary  Short  story writers. His short stories depicts history, socio-cultural norms,values, contemporary life and its problems. The present study is qualitative in nature and the researcher has employed textual analysis to study the socio-cultural aspects of  Ishfaq Ahmad's short stories. Nonetheless, the results show that Ishfaq  Ahmad has beautifully examined the socio-cultural aspectes of civilization.
