The Concept of God and Urdu Poetry

Abstract

The concept of God holds a central and prestigious place in literary themes. This conception is not linear by any means, and has evolved greatly over the span of centuries. Similarly, in Urdu poetry, almost all the poets have shed a considerable amount of attention to this theme, but it has resulted in a diversified conception of God due to difference of each individual's distinctive worldview. This article will focus on the evolution of this concept by comparing the thematic representation of prominent Urdu poets.
