Abstract

Akhtar Sherani  is one of prominent poet among Urdu romantic poets. Akhtar's poetry has a distinctly romantic outlook. He have  a tendency to avoid and escape from the present. Instead of facing the facts of life, he asylum in an imaginary life. Women is an prominent and central character of his poetry. For the first time in the history of Urdu literature, he openly and passionately expressed love in the name of his beloved women and declared his love as the real life. He is a naturalist, he has a strong attachment to the beauty of nature. Nature and its beauty is a leading subject poartry in his poetry.
