Abstract

Urdu poetry has a rich history of religious literature, and Shorish Kashmiri is a distinguished name in this tradition. His poetry is characterized by a diverse range of themes, a beautiful style, and a soft yet impactful tone. While he experimented with various genres of poetry, he is particularly renowned for his poems. Religious themes are deeply embedded in his poetry, reflecting his love and devotion to his country, Islamic occasions and the Prophet (PBUH), and his family. The influence of Islam is evident across all his poetic genres. His entire body of work is immersed in an Islamic environment, with symbolism, metaphors, and similes that convey deeper religious meanings.This article aims to explore these poetic influences in Shorish Kashmiri's works, shedding light on the religious essence that defines his poetry.
