Abstract

The evolution of transportation has been an integral part of human civilization, beginning with walking and progressing to the use of animals, wheels, and modern vehicles. This article explores the metaphorical representation of transportation in Urdu literature, analyzing how various modes of travel such as horses, camels, boats, bicycles, and automobiles are employed as literary symbols. From classical poetry to modern prose, transportation metaphors reflect themes of journey, struggle, progress, and destiny. By examining the works of renowned poets and writers, this study highlights the cultural and philosophical significance of movement in literature. Through these metaphors, Urdu literature captures the essence of human experiences, aspirations, and transitions across time and space.
