Abstract

Gotam is founder of Budhism. His philosophy of peace and love has impressed mankind all over the world. He has remained a very attractive character for fiction writers. It is a noticeable point that modern Urdu poetry especially Urdu Ghazal is much influenced by him. From Iqbal to contemporary age, many poets has written ghazals that are based on his philosophy. These poets have expressed not only biographical aspects of his life but also seen his personality as metaphoragaist bloodshed.
