Abstract

No doubt Urdu Novel has its recognition in contemporary international literary circles. So we have to adopt all scientific tools for the criticism and research of Urdu Novel. This article illustrates and emphasizes the basic relation of criticism and research. The triangle of literature which is based on Author, Text and Reader is considered as a key feature that provides the main perspective of criticism and research. Thus three basic approaches are used respectively, contextual approach, textual approach and ideological approach which are discussed in this article. It elucidates these approaches as well with some allied tools for the criticism and research of Urdu Novel. Some conceptual postulates have been formulated with logical reasoning.
